Got my Bilstein B8 shocks and Weitec springs installed
and also changed Lower control arm and Anti-row bar bushes!

and now my GTI is very response to my command!

Nice, let us know what the 'comfort' is like. I have H&R springs on, and although it's perfect for height, and great on track days... (as not as undulated, or rough with change of cambers everywhere), I would like to at some stage upgrade for something with good comfort. I think even stock I thought was reasonably hard. Is coil over the only way to get 'reasonable comfort' at lower stance?

Picked up some parts (pollen filter, oil filter, sump plug and gearbox oil) from Jmac to do my 60k service (I've already done plugs, MAF clean, upper engine cleaner and air filter). Thanks again Jimmy!

Still waiting on my 17mm hex socket to arrive from the UK before I can do the gearbox oil though... but will do the pollen filter and engine oil on Sunday never-the-less.

More swaybar fun on the weekend. Replaced the swaybar bush lube with lithium grease, I used some other stuff I had lying around and with the torrential rain from last week, they were already dry...

Removed my rear sway and set the front to hard with the stock droplinks.

Handles well and is much more comfortable on crappy Sydney roads.

Any reason why you removed the rear sway bar?

For FWD handling it's critical to have a rear sway bar... I can't see why you'd want to remove it.

With my AP Coilovers and Whiteline bushes, the swaybars made the ride stiff. Thats all good for the track, but the roads here are crap and I need some comfort.

With the front swaybar set to hard, traction is good and there is minimal body roll. This is how the car came, its just stiffer sway, shocks and springs.

When I go back to the track it will go back on.

Changing your rear springs and dampers would be a better option if you wanted to soak up bumps.... but the problem you're always going to have is that very stiff front end, combined with a hugely nose heavy car like the Polo. The back end is always going to border on too hard without much weight on the rear end.

But yeah, by pulling the rear sway bar all you're doing is removing balance in the car... which is bonkers to me. That said, each to their own.
