Do agree, that a lot of those expensive cars do have multilink set up at the back. Torsion beam on ours do provide good cornering in track settings (where the road is mostly even) and I believe some V8 tour race cars actually have torsion beam at the back (as I was told) for this reason.
About snap oversteer - I've tracked my car a few times, with RSB only and with RSB and FSB upgrades. RSB will tend to make it more exciting drive with mild oversteer at times, but haven't noticed any snap oversteer. This could be all due to the road conditions as well, camber / slipperiness / etc etc. The same road with different temperature / wetness, will never be the same in real setting.
FSB + RSB make the car very neutral. The car is very very predictable at its limit. No sudden surprises. I could really push the car without the question mark...
It's all about costs / gains. I would love to get new matching shocks, but H&R springs alone - livable currently. Not the most comfortable ride I do have to agree.
Hope this all makes sense.
