    For straightline traction, the car needs tighter springs for a start. The dogbone and front suspension bushes both can be replaced for improved rigidity.

    I'm a big fan of the front strut brace and don't think it could be anythign but good with any suspension combo.

    I also like the RSB, but there are some comments about if this is required with a good suspension setup.

    If you want it low, the H&R spring upgrade is good and cheap. otherwise, spring and shock combos or coilovers will set you back a fair bit more plus fitting...

    Unfortunately it all comes back to budget...

    For suspension: if you are on a low budget like me...

    I would get:
    H&R springs (may want to keep 16s.. if u want comfort), FSB and RSB, front wishbone bushings, dog bone mount, front strut brace.

    That's what I would do....
    I do agree - no traction - no go.

    You could try 215/45/16 or go to 215/40/17.

    I do believe in RSB. Made big difference. There are not many cars out there without RSBs... (I am talking reasonably priced cars)

    It's worth noting that the torsion beam provides the roll resistance in the rear suspension setup of the polo and a separate RSB isn't required for it to function correctly.

    The aftermarket RSB's just increase the stiffness compared to the factory setup, if that's what you're after. (and increase the likelihood of snap oversteer )

    That's right, it's the Stage one tune, updated version.
    I tried the Version 1 trial for 6 hours (they didn't have the V2 for trial), comparing to Version 2, the Version 2 is smoother through out low to high rev range.

    I agree with Insane Kiwi's overview of a good suspension setup.

    It really depends what path you want to take, if you plan on spending some thousands on KW coilovers, I would get them on and see if you still need a RSB, etc.

    The front brace and bushes are very worthwhile IMO. I'm yet to get the front suspension bushes done, but the front brace was a suprising improvement, just through rigidity of the chassis.

    with the H&R springs, RSB set on Medium, I have not been able to get snap oversteer (not to say it cant be done).

    The shortcoming of the H&R springs with stock shocks is that the ride can be a little floaty, and over bumps the traction seems to slip. At first this was not a problem or something I noticed, but as time goes on I feel the stock shocks are not lasting with the H&R's. The feel softer or something after around 6000kms.

    i'm waiting on the final part of my coilovers to arrive and if they are provide a good ride, then for the price I'd be considering them as a good option for <$1000 for the hardware (lets wait and see on that one).

    Lots of opinions, lots of options, no one is right or wrong, just opinions.

    I had the Whiteline RSB installed about a month ago, set on medium, handling has improved heaps, no snap oversteering for me (yet)

    Am waiting for the front and rear strut brace to arrive from UK
    Also waiting for H&R springs from OrangeTuning (i think they are in Germany).
    So excited.

    im looking for some shocks to match my H&R springs currently matched with my stock shocks. im thinking along the lines of blistens maybe. Anybody on here a supplier/dealer for them? im located in the melbourne south eastern suburbs. Any reccommended suspension places i can get quotes from. Any help appreciated. thanks

    VWindahouse has the Koni Yellows with the H&R's and says nice things about them. The Bilsten (B8's?) option with the H&R's also has good feedback although some say bumpy at lower speeds.

    once you price locally, don't forget to check OS pricing (US can be pretty cheap when freight is catered) and contemplate the support / price differences.
