Correct, Polo doesn't use CANBUS for radio, only Golf, Jetta, Passat.

Yeah the polo does actually use canbus for the radio, but you can get around it by tapping accessories from elsewhere (my old headunit had accessories and illumination tapped off the bottom of the cigarette lighter socket).

I wanted to get speed sense for the gps so I decided to do it "properly" and get a canbus adapter (also thinking it would keep the radio on until the key is pulled out, which it doesn't).

The problem is with the canbus adapter, looks like it loses canbus connection (the led indicator goes of periodically, push one of the can wires back in to the adapter and the led comes back on and the hu turns back on). I've removed it for now (got to get it replaced under warranty) and bone back to having it tapped off the cigarette lighter socket (left the wiring in there just in case).

Mine sticks out at least 5mm from the dash, i'm using a cage imported from the uk as the pioneer doesn't come with a double-din cage for some reason. Unfortunately the position of the mounting holes means that's where it sits.

Thrashed mine around a cement carpark (ie Motorkhana) all day.

    What fun!

Picked up my car from mechanic with few mods:
    - RSB (whiteline on medium)
    - Stock 16's went back on for track prep.
    - Rear toe plates installed
    - Quality wheel alignment

Also found out my local BP tyre pressure machine is reporting about 3psi low (so inflating more than I should).

Love the feel of the flatness and traction through the corners. Amazed at the improvement of acceleration traction when coming out of a corner.
