    Had some one on one bonding time with the Polo ... and detailed her from top to bottom. Previous owner must have driven a *lot* of dusty roads, because it was caked in all of the exterior seals.

    I think my OCD took over, cause I took the wheels off and scrubbed the wheel arches, and also cleaned inside the tail lights.

    She's looking all shiny and loved now.

    Quick pressure wash at home to get dust,spider webs off then trip to servo put some air in tires i think the dealer put air in 3 months a go any way they were on 32psi and i put 40 in and went for a 1 1/2 hour drive via stanwell park national park some slow cars mid way to end and a cop car, lucky the car in front was doing 5 to 10 km under the limit ha ha .The road was nice and clean no sticks or dirt due to the rain sat.Still like the way gti pulls up hills like a big 6 cylinder car.Still had the dash rattle and some new ones .steering still moves left a tad.1s gear at the lights needed a 2nd stab of clutch to engage 1st to 2nd notchy but allways goes in max 4000 rpm on trip today, my cars an early 2006 gti red tint no extras now on 5690km.I only drive every now and then if not working or with out company car.The 2nd gear does make a little sound as you move hard to notice .

    I got mad at my polo for making the same Steering noises that was "fixed" last tuesday...

    Then left it on the side of the road and drove the Mitsi magna .

    I like the car. Just hate that its smashed up and breaking down 8 months after ive bought it... and i hardly thrash or use it.... its not a lemon, just a few problems and problem hit and run drivers

    What steering noise are you getting? Is it like a dull clicking noise when you turn the wheel? I get this intermittently but no-one else on the board seems to.

    I gave her a good wash and then went out with a mate for a few photos. Luckily it was sunny.

    Cheers

    Booked mine in for a warranty repair to fix up all of the little things the previous owner ignored:

    * Rattle in rear right hand side (suspension?)
    * Drivers seat belt height adjuster jammed
    * Steering column adjuster jammed
    * Rear fog light not working
    * Hatch keylock not working
    * Cruise control lamp not working
    * Cup holder spring broken

    I'm glad I bought it still under warranty!
