Even though the car was brand new and only picked up Yesterday,What is it with dealers ,their detailing is rubbish and as far as I can tell thats most dealers.
So today I clayed the whole car and gave it a proper coat of wax.

This how it should have been delivered.

Must have been the weekend for slack VW owners to clean their cars.

Mine received it's 2nd comprehensive clean in 6 months of ownership.

I did the bucket thing (easier than expected) but used the hose for a final wash off (forgive me Anna Bligh!!!!!)

Depressing to find lots of little stone chips and areas of tree sap & flying fox s**t damaged paint work.

Then I remembered that no-one else looks at the paint work from 5cm's and I still have my health and it's a car

I forgot the wheels are actually silver and that it really is a nice looking vehicle underneath the grunge.

Went for a drive down to Apollo Bay and back then washed the car. I need to find passengers who don't get scared easily!!!

No...stock springs but Koni adjustable shocks. I've thought about Eibach or Koni springs, but having driven cars with these, there's no handling improvement (IMO) relative to the benefit you get from better damping. The GTI springs are already lower.

For some reason -- probably the offset -- these wheels and tyres seem to 'fill out' the guards better than my old 17"s with the same tyres

You put the centre caps in upside down.

Bugger! That means I'll have to take the wheels off, the tyres off the wheels, turn the centre cap around, put the tyres back on, balance them again....

With the extra width and wider offset, these make the car feel noticeably more planted. Only problem is they're almost 1kg per wheel heavier than my other 17's. Ah well...use these on the road, and the old ones on the track...sell my stockies (anyone interested?)
