A beer bottle lid fits inside pretty well too. Bit of silicone, bobs your uncle.

First Wakefield day with the apr stage 1 and coilovers. Managed to knock a couple of seconds of my previous PB, and there is still a bit in it I reckon.

If you give the date of the track day (preferably in the Polo Performance thread), then I can add you to the rankings there.

Tried to install a oversize TIP on the weekend... couldn't get it to fit in place. I had the coolant pipes loose and the 3 bolts for the gearbox cable guide out but still wouldn't fit in place. Also trimmed some off the turbo side of the pipe to help. Beyond my DIY skills.

that is a big fat sucker.... and like the one I installed recently it looks about 2" too short. I cut mine in half and extended it with a bit of metal pipe

You couldn't get it over the compressor inlet or it was fouling on the gearbox shift linkage cables when it was fitted?

I had it almost over the turbo inlet but couldn't get it that last inch required. It was fouling on the coolant pipes and the linkage cables. The cables were pushed so far out of position I decided that even if got the TIP in place I wouldn't be able to bolt the linkages back in position.

Try hairspray ( while it's still wet) for getting silicon over pipe ends. Acts as a lube and dries like a glue too. I wonder if you did get it all the way on if it'd been ok against the cables. My Forge is butted up against the cables. The edge of the exhaust mani heat shield will try to tear a whole in the hose unless you bend it. But yeah yours is a fatty and it does look like it'd be tight.
