Too true Gav. Happy wife, happy life. I still enjoy the Polo.... but with the 'folks in laws' getting older and less agile the Polo is not the best transport for them.

Hi Sean, Ken at Accurate does know suspensions and has been a consultant to many of the larger well known specialist suspension firms out there. But they will never admit it.

    Cheers Al

Cool, I didn't know that. I'm amped to get out this weekend to explore those new limits. The few corners I have had a run at have been sensational, makes my silver car feel quite lethargic, which in isolation it isn't. It's now got the handling I've been chasing and compliments all the other work that had been done to the car prior to my purchase. Now i've got a long week of waiting till Saturday afternoon.

Just dropped the car off to the mechanic. Re-smoked the car with 2 pairs off eyes and the exhaust manifold to head gasket is leaking at cylinder 2. Big job! spewing but has to be done. When I get it back at least i'll have that done, 3in dump + 200 cell cat and a ported wastegate so I'm hanging for the result but not so much the bill!

Started up to the squealing "jet noise" that people talk about started yesterday, so ordered the hardware to get the Secondary Air POS outta there!

All the best Troy. Add some pics of the day afterwards. I've got lakeside timeattack tomorrow so prepped last night, got the sticky boots on.

Did you end up sorting the kmac strut tops? Have you corner weighted the car, mine is apparently 65/35 (f/r).

Took it in to have it aligned and they called me to say that the orientation of some of the parts were incorrect, so they could not get the settings they wanted. They did their best but she could have more caster if it was correct.

I was pushing it for time to get the car ready, so i guess it will have to do. Will have to pull the suspension apart again after the track day and try to get it right

Gav swapped over my front pads and discs which has solved my annoying squeel in the front end. thanks again mate!!

Not long after that, went to the shops and after 10 minutes of searching for a park, spotted one next to a fellow polo.

Initially my car went in for a dump + cat job but now things are getting a bit crazy. The exhaust manifold has had its runners ported and/or cleaned up and its outlet port matched with the turbo housing , and the wastegate runner has been ported. There's a TIP to go on too.
I went down today because the stock wastegate actuator has had it - starts moving at only 2psi and is more or less cracked by 4psi. It was deemed too ****e to be tweaked with helper springs so now a turbosmart 5-7-12psi unit is getting fab'd onto the stock bracket. Tested it off the car with the 7psi spring and the rod was rock solid until exactly 7psi and silky smooth when moving in and out. Initially we'll run this 7psi spring and see what the boost is doing with the dump + cat, before stronger springs and other goodies are considered. It'll hopefully be ready by Tuesday arvo so absolutely hanging to see how it goes.
