    New 'zorst.

3" DP and 100 cell cat. Down to 2.5" for the rear half. One resonator, one muffler. All stainless.

Looks great, but my worst fears were confirmed; too loud

Today I said goodbye to the Polo after 7 years.

Although I didn't even make it to 60,000kms in that time, the Polo has been one of the most enjoyable cars I've owned. It started life as a daily driver with back seats removed so I could carry tools and a 4 foot ladder for work, and ended up as a dedicated track car that punched well above its weight and embarrassed quite a few 'sports car' owners along the way.

It earned quite a few trophies on the track, from fastest FWD at the Cooma 1000 sprints to podium finishes behind a Lotus Elise at the Dutton Rally tarmac events, and we managed to drop it down below 1:10s at Wakefield Park after years of practice.

It went from black, to yellow vinyl wrap, back to black, to green plastidip and once again back to black, and it looked fantastic in every colour.

It was the car that started me on the slippery slope of VW mods, and what started as a simple stage 1 tune ended up with more than $30,000 dropped into the car over its life.

It's now gone to a new home with a new VWW member - I'm sure he'll have as much fun with it as I did.

Must be a week for Polos being sold! Mine just went today.
It never missed a beat and only ever had maintenance items changed over. My wife has given names to my cars over the years and it was time for a change, so little 'Alonso' went to a lovely couple who I'm sure will keep him well looked after.

I've almost had a tear over it. :/

Geez, only just seen your post.

Thanks for your input over the years. I'm hoping to get down to wakefield this year before I too plan to part with the car.

No worries mate - it was a fun ride.

Let me know if you make it up to Wakefield sometime - I'll take the day off and come out to join you.
