I just routed my aux and usb/ipod cable into my glovebox, though the blank plug where German models have the passenger airbag disabling switch.
I finally got around to installing a new stereo, kind of. After finally getting all the harnesses, and finding out that the 12V power needed to be changed to the accessory one, I did some quick messing around, and got it all working. I hope I did the power for the antenna convertor correctly, I hope it enjoys 12V.I'm not 100% sure what the dimmer via the orange wire is for, but it's now connected, so hopefully that does it's job.
Tomorrow morning's job is to actually install it, and combined with the VW OEM pocket, route the cables for my iPod. I'll post a follow up picture or two once thats done.
I also have to say, the OEM pocket has something completely unexpected, but awesome, at the back, there are 3 holes in the top, allowing you to easily route ipod/usb/aux cables into the pocket... AWESOME!
EDIT:

I like the things in the glovebox being automatically out of sight
Update on my brakes...
You definitely can't use the standard calipers with 312mm discs. Have larger calipers coming during the week from a fellow forum member so no biggie there.
Rear big brake OEM 280mm discs from ECS went on a treat, although had to take off the backing plate. Is that much of a problem?

Called the smash repairs to check to see if my MY08 Pog was ready to be picked up. And, no, of course it isn't...
Just over a month ago someone reversed into the Pog while it was parked. The damage wasn't too bad -- new bonnet, bumper, radiator, headlights but nothing chassis-related -- but the holdup has apparently been getting a small coolant hose, which needed air-freighting from Portugal or Greenland or Mozambique or something else stupid. I've been far too long without a car, so the wait to get it back has been agonising.
But when I do, get it back, first on my list is a 42DD bushings install, BFI dogbone mount install, and an install of one of these, which I'm getting off Pioneer at the end of June.
After that, it's a Whiteline rear sway bar (and a general suspension check to make sure the accident hasn't changed any of the geometry) and a track day in July.
You might have guessed I'm keen to get the car back.
which track day you going to? after i get some stickies i'm planning to do MORE trackdays![]()
APR V2 | APR Downpipe + custom catback | APR solid mount | FMIC | SEAT intake | BMC filter | FORGE 007DV | KW v1 | WHITELINE RSB
139Kw | 271.8Nm atw - At a new home
Either an MRT or Circuit Club one down at Wakefield - I think they both have events halfway through July. I haven't been around Wakefield in this car yet, so it desperately needs a bit of gentle track time!
