You do it more so with the rear sway bar, just around tighter corners...

Swaybar? It is a stop gap to the overall problem that the Polo GTI stock suspension was pretty average. The more time you spend driving, the more evident the understeer is no fun and if you have it chipped, the inside wheel slips easily. A LSD would go a long way here, but a good set of coilovers / spring & shock combo is the only real way to get good handling.
Best to do yourself a favour and see if one of the Brizzy boys will show you what can be achieved with a bit of cash...
I'm going down the Coilover Route once I get to Canberra...
Took the Polo from Brisbane, Mt Glorious, Fernvale, Brisbane so we could do a bit of driving with fun roads on the way.

Yes I know they are Tempe specials and aren't uber expensive awesomeness, but work paid for them so I am pretty damned happy.
As an aside Tempe tyres has improved out of site since I last visited them 3-4 years back shopping for wheels for my wife's car. Very impressed with the service
looks awesome. Now just need a set of bright red Porsche calipers behind them wheels. siiiiick.
Nice shoes. Whats the rubber?
Kumho KU31 205/40
So they are a little more stretched given its the same tyre width on a 0.5 inch larger rim.
We'll see how they go over the next couple months, and if I'm not happy with them I'll just make some adjustments to my driving style to ensure I can get some new rubber in the next few months :D
Brought the Gti a GPS Garmin nuvi 1490T..... now to work out how to use it? Cheers Al
