Dont bother trying to 'do something about it' with authorities - you will waste a large chunk of your life for no result. It's just bad luck. It is surprising the amount of stuff you see on the roads these days that has fallen off trucks/utes. Big, dangerous stuff. A few weeks ago I had the car in front of me (ute) lose its whole rear canopy just ahead of me. Scared the s**t out of me. Narrowly missed it while cringing about the almost near 5 car pile up behind me on the M1.

I wont bother with the councils, i agree with the above, they arent very helpful, i spoke with a higher up manager with roadside assist and they are going to reimburse the tow at least.
on a more positive note, the suspension on the car is fine, just needed a thrust alignment. bought some CSA Race wheels in a dark silver which blend in nicely on the car, plus we arrived in QLD safely, so it turned out well :)

I do post alot better times with my old wrx( 1:20) , the main problem i had was traction , once traction was there the speed was there too.
MSCASA Super spinte Series - definitely look into it. - the other issue was traffic , it's hard to post up a great time with a car in front almost sliding out in front of you.

The MSCA Super Sprint allows you to be on the track, 20 cars at a time, in a group that does the same lap time as you. Too fast? you'll move up to the next group and vice-versa.
You usually get 5 sessions, 4 or 5 laps at a time, so its not 'too' bad on the car either.
I'll be out there next Sunday, July 4, all things going to plan...
sounds great , if you could give me a heads on the next one , it's my sons bday on the 4/7 . what are the prices like ? $125 was for the open day , 5 sessions 15 minutes each session
Cleaned up some vacuum lines and fitted my new intake (sealed pod with "4 intake) over the weekend.
As I suspected, I'm sure there are performance gains with the new intake.... but they are so minor its negligible. The huge increase in spooling and diverter valve sound is fun... but we'll see how long before it starts to annoy me :P

I found out my POLO GTI is still under warrantee. thank god =)
Taking it there next monday to get windows seals repaired, broken door hand repaired and also the gearbox replaced if that's possible. Taking it to DENLO in parramatta.
Additionally I also got a quote from Pedders Blacktown to install front and rear whiteline sway bars which would total at $520 for the parts or $840 total including install. I could do the sways myself but timewise, $320 additional for the install isnt bad. Sway Bars would really improve corning of the polo which seems really soft to me.
The rear swaybar is a good addition.
The Polo comes with a front swaybar from factory. Very easy to install (now I know) where as the front sway requires some elements of the car to be removed to allow access (sub frame I think).
I'm not sure about upgrading the front swaybar with stock suspension, if you are looking for better handling, you may be better off looking towards coilovers or spring / shock combo.
The softness you talk of is to do with the springs / shocks, adding roll bars will help, but may not give you handling that would compare to just changing the springs.
