Yeah, no splits... but the electronic boost reader is down in the passenger foot well, so there is a good 1m+ of tubing that comes off the regulator hose. I figured this might be causing a delay in the appropriate reading being sent to the fuel regulator, and hence leaning out and pinging.

Either way, its good practice not to be splicing into that hose for boost monitoring

The one on my S3 runs from there with no problems and I bet half the rest of the planet pick it up there too.
The nearest I have come across to pipe length being an issue, is the boost sense line to the ECU on a G60 engine. They have to be a metre long. If you start trimming them down because the ends have split, weird pulses from the intake, cause no end of grief for the MAP sensor. This stops the engine running properly on anything but full throttle above 3000 revs.

I'd don't reckon that's your problem though. You need to scan it an log it.

Probably just fuel tbh. Tapping into your reg line wont cause you any dramas. Are you running the colder plugs?

Was showing a mate my new GIAC reflash and decided to do a short 3rd gear burst up to 120 on a deserted stretch of hwy...low and behold a cop was parked behind a tree at that exact spot.

So after a leisurely 30 minute cruise under the speed limit, 4 seconds of boost cost me 234 bucks and a few demerits...Luckily he was a nice cop and downgraded my speed so my license didn't get suspended for a month...

    I guess I deserve it...

    Yeah, running BKUR7ET's at a .28 gap.

I'll start with the fuel filter (seeing it's due in another 5,000 and cheap and easy to do) and see how I go.

Edit: The rare pinging was occurring prior to the plug change, and has become no more or less frequent since the change. Pretty sure its fuel/fuel filter/injector related.

What did I do to my Polo today? Just got in and drove to my first job and back.

I have now done just under 10,000k's since I got it on the 4th December last year. It is still in the early days of our relationship so the not quite perfect things haven't started to bug me yet. God I enjoy driving it. Had Jmac chip it just after I got it and I just lurve the way that it accelerates.

Downside is that my Bora 4Mo just seems slow to me now.
2001 Bora 4 Motion Sport now used by number two son
2011 Skoda Octavia Scout now with Underground Performance tune
2010 Jetta 125 tdi dsg for the misses - Impressed
2006 Polo GTI - Enhanced by some of Gav's magic - Absolutely loving it

The car is quick but being a small car so you do notice how fast you're going. It's addictive and that's why its so fun to drive.
