Also, did you fit the drop links while the car was on the ground, as fitting them with the car raised will cause them to not sit properly.
Yes i replaced my front bushes with Original Seat Cupra R bushes supplied from Jmac. About the drop links they were fitted by my mechanic James at Audvolks; so most likely on a hoist. Will refiiting them while car is on the ground help?

The droplinks (standard or Mondeo) are both too long for shortened springs. The Mondeo ones don't have as much slack in them, so probably are more durable over time.

JMac has used a different product, but not sure which one. I posted a link to some short ones as well, don't know if they would fix your problems tho...

Take no offence my friend Im glad its fixed, i just remember when you called about the brakes you mentioned your knock, and i mentioned the links, you seemed doubtful as you said you had checked them, thats why i checked them right away when it came last that was all. How are the brakes now, i trust they are bedding in nicely

Doesnt matter where you do the links mate, the only difference is if you jack up one side then the sway stays tight and will go out of line when you remove the link thats all, jack both sides up and take the 2 off , the vehicle is unpressed so they will be even, no difference if on the ground or in the air, unlike when you are tightening up bushes, these (bushes)however should be tightened pressed, or you will have premature wear otherwise. Dont worry about your links mate fit with the 2 front wheels jacked up and you will have no tension on the sway.
    Thats it

Fitted Philips crystal vision headlights and parkers today. Look much nicer than the standard items but what a pain the passenger side was my hands are just to big for little jobs like that.

Ok, so I'm now up to 4 wheel caps in 3500km. Well on the way to winning this comp I think

I found the one that I lost today, and all of the clips are broken. It looks like this is why they fall out.

Boost didn't feel right so I checked a few connections.

Splitter / Diverter was set a little low, upped the load.

Was checking all the turbo - engine manifold connections, With the FMIC there a quite a few connections (around . The hose clamp on the intake manifold was loose, it had skipped a tooth on the screw drive and would not bit hard enough. replaced for the high cost of $3.50.

Went for a drive in the rain, nice cool air, car feels better.

really have to do some logging (vagcom) so I have a benchmark to compare with rather than how the car 'feels' on the day.

Swapped out my standard plugs for NGK BKUR7ET's over the weekend (thanks Jmac for the quick how-to).

Very easy to do, just needed an socket extension as the plugs are *deep* in the engine. Idle feels better already, and I'm sure they'll settle in a little bit more as the ECU gets used to them.

Just waiting for my diverter valve to arrive and the car will be finished as far as mods go.
