I heard theat if you run out of petrol, it will create vacum in the injectors and it will damage them and it is expesnsive to replace them as well... So dont run you car too empty!
I had a jerry can with me. Once I ran out, put in 10 litres.
Yeah, it's bad for all those reasons you've listed. Also apparently the fuel pump uses the fuel as a coolant so when you're really empty, there is a chance of burning out the fuel pump.
As Golfman said, newer cars generally won't suffer these problems. Which is why I decided to carry out this little experiment now, just so I know.
Ordered my first mod today, a 60mm Saber Electronic Boost Gauge.
Next on the list, K&N Apollo intake and then GIAC reflash for Xmas :)
Just bought a 3yr/60k extended warranty from VW Australia to kick in this Nov. Piece of mind considering i've had a radiator replaced and gearbox rebuild in the last year, amongst a few smaller warranty jobs. Would rather have spent it on mods heheh
How much did the extended warranty cost if you don't mind me asking?
2"5 pipe cat back, the gain in mid range is awesome, although it sound so so loud....
Installed my EBC Green Stuff pads and Brembo slotted rotors, and also gave it a oil and filter change, and added my ECS magnetic sump plug...Its all about bling!!!
