Weird Thing happened with My GTI

    Hey all,

Good to see more of theses little Pocket Rockets being bought!!.

Ok a very weird thing happened yesterday.

I was washing the car, I had just finished giving the interior a once over, and noticed something strange as I was washing the out side of the car……
First I thought it was the Sun refection …. but I noticed that the Passenger side Park light was on, only one side..
    I thought WTF!!.

So I went and opened the driver’s door and there was BEEPING sound coming from the cabin. The one as if I had left my lights on, but nothing was on!!!

I though stuff it; I'll finish washing the suds off the car and check it again later.

As I worked my way to the front of the car the same side front Park light was on??

So to clear things Both Front and back Park lights were on, but just on the Passenger side...

I rinsed the car off and got in it to take a better look at what was going on.
I put the keys in the ignition, tried the lights ect... I then started the car, turned it off and went and checked as the sound had then stopped.
    Now all was ok...

    So anyone know WTF happened?

another victim of the german parking light!

In most german cars if u leave the indicator on whilst u turn the car off it will leave the corresponding front and rear parking lights on. I think its for if u park in a dark street at night or in a big snow storm your car is still visible. or something to that effect. so yeah its a feature not a fault.

My car makes a buzzing noise as well until i close the door or switch the indicator off.

From 1977 the golfs had that feature. In some euro countries if you left your car on some roads you had to have the roadside parkers on. Thats what I was told anyway. Cheers!
