    Can't say I get that noise, and my back seats are down quite often with the bike in the back

    hmm, i get a chime when I unlatch the rear seat. There's a small button behind the drivers seat, about rear seat passenger knee height, not sure if that's a swtich for the chime or not.

    i reckon that little button is about disabling the internal motion sensor for the alarm. so if you keep a dog in the car, its movement inside wont set off the alarm. never played with it though.

    Yeah, never had the chime in regards to the rear seats down.

    I just read the manual, it says the same thing too... mystery No.2 resolved....

    but I mean, isn't it a little bit over the top? the more the actuator moves, the more chances of failure occurring... ze German engineers......
