    Weird Power steering noises??

    Hi,

    This is my first post.

I have a Polo Gti. All is well with it until today...

It was a scorching hot 40+ degrees day...

I was driving to the beach and back and my car developed a werid noise when turning... Like when you turn the wheel left or right, I could hear a noise from the front left side. Like a tick tick tick tick..as I turn the wheel. Sounds like the spring hitting something as I turn??? I lifted the car up and nothing seemed out of the ordinary...

It was hot under there... So I sprayed water from the hose on it and noise gone? Ill see in the morning if it does it when it all drys up..

Could it be a lubrication problem or heat? Something rubbing?

I cant find the power steering tank to check the oil?

I know exactly the sound you mean - I had exactly the same problem - it would come and go and would sometimes be more noticeable than others.

Take it to the dealer and they'll fix under warranty - it is a strut top problem (can't find the job card for the exact problem - moved house - chaos) but it€ is not unknown on the Polo and moreso the Golf so they should know what it is.

It's not a big problem and had no effect on the function of the car - I had it for a couple of months until the dealer finally ordered the part.

    Hi,

Jacked up the car, twisted the spring round a little, creaking sound gone...
