    Water in secondary air injection

    Hi,

Can anyone please advise how water can get collected/stuck in the SAI? Apart from cracks in hoses is there any other way that this could occur?

    Thank you!

So over time condensation can just occur? Is that due to any faults connecting to the pump itself or does this just "happen"

It's the lowest part of the system, anything in the pipes runs back down into it. Short trips make it worse, just like water in the oil.

Partly right but from the wrong angle, its the sticking kombi valve that lets condensation from the exhaust back into the pump, its only supposed to be open for a few seconds whilst the pump runs, but it stick open, have a search here in the Polo section on secondary air pump dramas, I wrote a big speel on it and why it happens and what you need to fix. in short you need a new or second hand pump AND a kombi valve or do the delete and have the software fettled accordingly

Delete that rubbish and get a free tune for less than a new one.
Someone who's bypassed may sell you theirs.
