That'd be cool, only done 1 track day, in my old impreza RS and friends Porche at Oran.
$180 aint cheap, how much does it cost to become a member so you can go?
We had our day at Marulan a couple of weeks back. It's a fantastic little track and my standard Polo definitely embarrassed some of the big HP cars as it's a real handling circuit (SS Commodore with pro driver was doing 46's and I was doing 48s). The standard tyres were the surprise though, although they weren't really getting all that hot they just didn't wear (although I lost both front wheel centre caps). I've done track days a few years ago and could shred a brand new set of tyres after just a few sessions! It averaged 36L/100km for the day. Ha!

I am planning wheels, tyres and suspension next as this seemed to be the biggest limitation. Brakes helf up a lot better than expected although peddle got a bit long by the end of the day. Wakefield Park is on the 9th May so any other VW drivers should come along.

$180 is actually a little bit cheaper than most the other guys that run track days. The first 30 guys who book in at Wakefield though are getting it for $150. The last time I looked there were 9 positions still available (21 taken) and then the next 30 after that are $180. You'll get 60 - 100 laps in if you head out there every session so it's pretty good value and it's a blast! Better than any night out!
Oh, and just join up to the autosports forums and from there you can then register for the days.
looks sick!!!
That's me!
I found that with new springs and a few more PSI in the tyres, it is starting to handle pretty well. On saying that I'm sure the top notch Koni setup with some wider tread would be a whole new ball game.
Chip it sir, then you'll be closer in the straights (until the heat soak sets in).
Yeah I ran 42psi in the front and 40 in the rear which seemed to help a bit more. Around marulan the big HP cars were only starting to get me at the very end of the straight, but I was out-braking them so they couldn't pass. With good suspension and some decent semi slicks it will go good... Once all the handling is sorted it will be interesting to see how much difference a bit more HP makes.
awsome looks like fun times
So is anyone interested? If you don't want register with the AUTOsports forums to register for the track days you can just PM me and I can do it all for you. I really want to get some more Polos down there so we can see what mods work best! Come on guys!
