    Underseat storage tray removal.

My amplifer P450.4 recently died of a heart attack, and my sound system as a result is dead as well. Today, I got myself a Mb Quart RAB 250 for its size so I can lesser the space taken from the boot, and relocate the amplifer and cross over box to the front.

I found the size of the underseat storage compartment is big enough to fit all of the equipment, but I am having trouble figuring out how to take the tray out. I am not too comfortable in taking the whole seat out, so I wondering whether anyone has done so?

The storage compartment's outeredge looks to be the perfect "amp tray" to screw the Mb Quart and cross over on. Anyone think this is a bad idea?

Moreover, anyone has any suggestion to fit all these in places where it is hidden?

    Thanks
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

Looks like a good location. Only thing is that little amps do get pretty hot, and will need a vent to dissipate heat. Either if you can get the tray out, you can get a 12v fan (computer fans will work well) directed towards the back. These will be silent enough if you get good quality set.

May also provide good heating for passengers in winter!

But yes, to get the amp working efficiently, do think about a vent / fan combo in the tray. You can those thin fans with some holes made at the back along with the holes for the wire.

Also give enough slack for the wires when designing, so that tray can come out easily without pulling on wires too hard from the amp.

Hope this helps... but sorry I have no idea how to get the tray out!
