RE55's
I'd even suggest Toyo Proxie 4's. I've got them on my Polo and they are awesome value for money. They perform awesome in both dry and wet conditions and arent squeaky when you push them hard. However, there is a bit of road noise from them. Furthermore they are a Japanese made tyre, not Chinese made or other cheaper labour countries, which I have found in some instances (besides the Preceedas as I've had them on a previous ride) made a noticable difference. Honestly, spend as much as you can on tires as they are the only thing that keeps you and your car on the road!

RE55's
RE55's are awesome swesome tyres and if 2000-3000km per-set is ok, then you wont find a better performance tyre. It really is a race tyre with the minimum amount of tread needed to be legal.
My Dads WRX picked up 4sec a lap at Wakefield Raceway by running htese over "sports" tyres.

I'm not sure the OP really has an appetite to pay $350+/corner for tyres that will last less than 10,000ks
However, I might start another thread to gather views about various R compound tyres, as I need a new set.
I'm also struggling with tyre choice. The Cupra came with out standing Michelin Pilot SX standard. My last tyre replacement Michelin Australia were able to find some in stock for me, but alas now they are no longer made. The two replacement choices I have been given are Michelin Pilot Primacy ($260 approx) of Pirelli PZero Dragon ($240 approx). Any comments?
