    Tuned to believe

Well polo gti has been tuned for about 2 weeks now. Must say that all the advice I got was spot on with the reponse to the tune by a factory car. I am very impressed with how much better the car performs. Obviously with more power it goes harder but also normal driving has become much smoother as well. Before dyno run saw 103kw atw and after came up at 130 kw atw. So from those numbers there is an improvement for sure but the real gains are in the midrange. Just giving my 10 cents (5 cents soon to be extinct).

    Interesting...

Which brand of ECU flash did you get?

I have the APR, and wouldn't switch back, but wouldn't say that it is smoother. on the contrary, I have more fun, but my passengers would find it a lot more jerky.

With the onset of the turbo comes a shove back into the seat. When lifting off the throttle, often it snaps back (hope when I change the Seat air intake will help a little).

This added to the tighter springs i have make for a rougher ride, but i'm not complaining...

Yes mate it makes alot of difference with a BMC or K&N filter, Seat intake and upgraded diverter valve. Much smoother, better spool up and holds boost longer! Go for it

I got the APR tune. What I meant by smoother was that under part throttle response is smoother and the engine does not feel restrained. But you are right in saying now there is the typical boost kick in the back. Next mods I am not sure about. I did not buy this car to modify as my last car I spent to much on and decided not again. But I may consider a new cooler as the stock unit does suffer some heat sink on prolonged boost use.

Yeah, budget is important (so you can look back at how you didn't keep to it).

My budget for the 1st year is 25K:

    20K for the car
1.5 ish for the ECU Flash
1k ish for new springs and engine mounts (including fitting)
500 ish for transfer of rego
    900 ish for insurance

The rest is going on small pieces (Seat intake, Forge Valve, Air Filter).

So.... When thats all done its just a matter of deleting this account and hiding in a hole so none of you tempt me to spend more money on the toy
