good buy watto, post up some pics when you get time. Now youve gotta get roadworthy and rego'd etc which ive heard can be a pain.

Took me 2 goes to get through a roadworthy in QLD. "Oil leak mate". Yeah I just changed it and the oil filter housing chucks loads down the front of the block. Cleaned up for the re-test.

A couple of other bits of trivia but no great drama, except for them finding the engine number.

Same place tried the same on my S3 and the wifes A4. They are 10 years old mate, there's bound to be some oil on the outside. It's not dripping on the floor in front of you.

A shield behind the filter stops oil from doing that, anyway guy doing the roadworthy should know better but most dont. There is also some rules regarding oil leaks technically as in how many drips at a certain time, but like MOT back in Blighty its really up to the guy looking at it at the time. Its a real tricky one the good old roadworthy. I could write a book on what ive seen "fail" some real crackers.
Good luck with the Buy and certification.

Seen you do that Jimmy, my new, not in any kind of rush method, involves poking a hole in the filter and letting it drain out. Do something else while you wait. No good for you with the time pressure obviously but works in my world

You mate for quickness just use the oil filter box , you can make a nice quick shield with that, in fact its ideal you can shpae it so it rests on the block, you clean the filter face as you do and screw on the new filter, chuck the box away as you would anyway!!. Oldies are the goodies
