    trip computer gone funny

something weird (well at least i think!) seems to have happened with my trip computer

    quick question for you guys

when you hold onto the reset button (the button underneath the wiper stalk) , is it meant to reset for the CURRENT trip of the LIFE of the vehicle?

    THanks!

WooT! There's a reset button under the wiper stalk? damn i didnt know this...

should only reset the current fuel ave, not the total fuel ave. The Total fuel ave should start working after 300+km...(according to the VW Bible!)

haha. mister! you didn't be a very good disciple and read the whole bible didn't ya, for not knowing the reset button! =P

from memory, it resets whichever screen you are in. So, if you are in screen A and hold down the reset, it resets the A one. And if you hold on the B, it resets the B.

    that would make sense then

i just thought that you could never reset the total kms traveled, total avg fuel consumption, and total time spent in car

lame i wanted to keep those figures haha

yeah i accidentally erased my mode 2, which was my car's lifetime averages. since then i've always made sure that i'm in mode 1 before resetting anything.

you mean the cruise control stalker? that's reset button to "re-set" the cruise after you disconnected it. It'll speed the car back up to the speed set previously before the disconnect. like if you have to cancel cruise cuz someone wanted to block the right lane on a high way travelling at a significantly slower speed then you..

I thought that mode 2 resets every 2000km and mode 1 resets every trip (engine off for more than 2 hours)? Or are they adjustable as well via VAGCOM?
