Overkill . If you want to strengthen your engine change the con-rods
Hi Guys,
Does everyone go for the standard timing belt when they change it?
I was looking on ECS tonight and noticed this:

Thoughts?

And what about the OEM vs Third party argument? Worth going for OEM since it's an important part or can I save some cash and get an ECS kit?

Been through this already man and explained it all ages ago, the timing belt is the only part of the kit thats the same. The tensioner and hydraulic damper is BJX ONLY. The water pump is for an 06A block so fill your boots with that, but please dont be led. Yes you have a 1.8T but there are several parts of the 1.8T Golf kit that dont do. And yeah i agree with Seb here, nothing wrong with a good continental belt, Dayco euro doing belts in fact a lot of factory originals are already Dayco now.
