Time to buy some more goodies

First of all, hope everyone behaves themselves tonight!! hope you have a great new year.

Sometime next week ill be getting a new downpipe, flex pipe and cat (euro4 compliant high flow 200cell) mandrel bent/stainless everything.

However the reason for my post is...

I NEED better brakes, i constantly read about people upgrading pads and fluid.
Yet whenever i call a brake specialist in newcastle they go ahhhhh its a Golf right? the 3.2 litre?

    GTI Polo??? you mean golf????

I dont trust these people to order brake bits in for me.
Is there a shop where i can simply ring up and order the right pads, the right fluid and maybe some new rotors, even if its in sydney, melb, bris i dont care as long as they are the right bits.

upgraded rotors are another thing thats up in the air, people on here say DBA make them, but when i called them they said no.

Or should i buy brake upgrade kit ie. 312mm kit. If soo, where from, how much?

I chose some nice wheels. O.Z superturismo GT.... but they dont make them to suit the GTI polo....

For brakes, call Tony at V-Sport in Sydney on 9679 8644.He supplied my pads and Elf fluid when i had the standard 288mm discs. If you're interested I have a set of EBC green pads for the standard brakes that I used briefly before upgrading to the bigger brakes. You can have them for $100.
The 312mm brakes are a good mod,Timbo and I both have them, with ferodo 2500 pads.Cost was around $900 for calipers and discs, plus fitting[which is a straight bolt on]
Regarding the OZ Superturismo wheels,if they are the 17 spoke type,I have these on my car in 16" x 7".They are 35mm offset,5 x 100 pcd.
I bought mine in Melbourne[not cheap] but have since bought an extra one from Tirerack in the States for around $365 landed door to door.Much cheaper than buying local.
    Cheers

I've been interested in this as well.

EBC brake pads - is it for front two? How briefly was it used? if mitch is not keen, I will be keen on getting those... how much are they new anyway?

    Thanks

Wheels on my car are Superturismo GT-whoever told you they don't fit is WRONG! Also available in 17".[Correction-they're 16 spoke]
EBC pads have 9mm material remaining.Cost around $175 odd from memory.
4 pads for two front wheels.

    Hey Len,

Do you or anyone else here know whether the Superturismo WRCs would fit the Polo? I think they come in 17"x8" pcd 5x100 35mm offset. I'm a n00b so not too sure about the 8" width. I think the GTs come in 17"x7" though, but I do really like the white.

    Thanks,
    C

Doubt that the 8" wheels would fit.The only difference between Superturismo GT's and WRC's is that the GT's are silver and the WRC's white.
If you really like the white you'd have to paint a set of GT's.

I am interested in the pads!
[how many kms will it last on normal driving around town, and what mm thickness when purchased new? thanks]

Also is it worth doing the rear brake pads as well??

New pads are 10-11mm.How long will they last ?How long is a piece of string?
Should last around the same as stockers at a guess. If rears are OK,leave them untill they need replacing before upgrading.Fronts do most of the work.
