For those of you wanting to know what a smoke machine does

You might have seen some of my posts where there has been debate about boost leaks, in most of the sections on this forum tbh, if not there will be. Anyway you might notice after watching people argue about vac pipes, oh its def your divertor or it def a clamp, how do you know?????? i say smoke it every time. I had a Polo today presenting a boost leak and have the the use of a cracking smoke machine, my next purchase along with my scope, with both will be laughing.
Anyway i suspected a split cooler. Check out my findings.
    Here is the machine

Here it is hooked up after the MAF so the whole intake gets checked along with a lot of other things

And i hope the pic is clear for you to see the smoke

    and again

It did turn out to be intercooler split, but the exercise shows that the smoke test is an awesome way to test ANY engine NA or Turbo, not only that wind noises in cabins etc, you can even get the smoke with dye and before you ask it doesnt damage Mafs, Maps or anything like that
    Enjoy, i know i do

    Cheers

Hi Jmac, that's very cool and so logical. Out of curiousity for that car, was it intercooler hose split? (you said intercooler split..?)

Intecooler itself was split mate, had copped a bit of damage. Put new one on today and the car is strong now.
