For those with KW V1 Coilovers ...

Did your rear springs fit snugly on the rubber hat? Mine were loose and needed modification to fit well. I'm sure the parts i got were correct (9N Polo)?

Also, did you have to remove the rear adjuster to get the rear low? I have mine wound all the way and its not very low

Yes, you don't have to fit the rear adjuster if you like tail dragging - I bought unused ones to space up my rear

No need for the rear adjustment bit, sits fine without it, better ride height.

been driving around without the rear adjusters for a few months. no issues to report. coming off a speed hump you can feel the back hitting the bump stops though

Arghh so my car has developed a bad knocking sound whilst driving. Hard to pinpoint the noise location but i think its front left/middle ish.

Annoying the crap out of me! Need some daylight to investigate.

I put in Whiteline droplinks at the same time as my KW's but theyve been fine for about a fortnight and now suddenly this noise, arghhhh ....

Edit: After reading this thread http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...eas-39006.html i'm thinking the Whiteline droplinks may be too long still or are loose on the front swaybar. I'll try see if there is any play in the link and maybe grease the thing too ..

Edit 2: And this post from Jmac gives me more food for thought.

And this one from noone. So i'm looking for droplinks shorter than 270mm or thereabuots ...

To the guys that have KW coils, did your kits come with a set of shortened drop links?

Reason I ask is that I recently bought some V1s from DPM performance that came with a set of shortened drop links in the box. I had the coils installed yesterday and have just realised the links are wayyy too short, causing the links to knock the chassis rail on both sides of the car which in turn is making an annoying clunking sound (and also a nasty scratch on the chassis on both sides)...

Just curious as to whether this was something DPM threw in the box or it was something KW provided (although no one else has mentioned this before...). Am going to put the stock links back in for now, anyone had any luck with finding a suitable set of shorter links?

As you can see from the pics, the bottom of the link which connects to the sway bar is really high, rubbing with the chassis next to it...

im using standard droplinks and haven't had any problems at all. i think shorten links are for cars dropped to teh ground. i set my car so the wheels sit just in the arch.
