Well I reversed into the GTI not too long ago with my work van (go on, have a laugh )
I smacked it in the drivers side rear corner. From what I've been able to gather, it has pushed the corner in ever so slightly enough to put a crease in the rear passenger side panel. The bumper was pushed in the corner so that it looks like one of the channels(?) in the chassis is trying to push its way out. Sounds worse than it is, apart from the crease. I would look into getting it pulled out but I don't think it would work right if the panels have been pushed up.
So, I'm looking at getting the repairs fixed under my vans insurance (which is third party damage). I also have a few dings in the front bumper that I would like to have fixed. A claim on my insurance is $600 initial excess and then another $600 excess.
I would like to fit a Cup kit as per:
VW Polo Bodykit - GOFL 6 - VW - Product Catalog - JC SPORTLINE
What I was wondering is:
Seeing as the bumpers are going to have to be repaired/replaced and painted, would the smash repair mob be open to basically removing the old bumpers, painting the new bumpers and refitting them? I was thinking it would probably save them time if they have to source bumpers, bog, prep, etc. It would be a straight up pull off, paint new ones, refit.
Am I the only one who thinks it's a good idea?
