How much of that 550hp you think is being used in the corners? And the 1600kg? Unless you had a sweet suspension and nice brake setup, the polo sticking with them is not out of the question.

What you should be looking for is a late 07/08 S3 ..... 2.0T and AWD. With some suspension and power mods it should satisfy all your power AND reliability requirements as well as being able to actually USE some of that power ......

You can get 1 for about $50K these days ........

No you can't maybe keep the polo as the daily and get someone thing else you can have with big power

If you were looking for power, why on earth did you get the polo? Amongst the WRX, FPVs, etc,, where does the polo fit in?

No offence intended towards polo drivers!

    Gotta compare apples and apples.

Go put it on a circuit with any car around 2 litres (and any NA for that matter) and tell us how the polo compares. If you're not competitive with most other street driven cars, than it's not the cars fault... These little things do alright when rowed appropriately and with the power and mods you have can really get it scooting.

For me, the more track time I have, the less inclined I am to drive hard on the street and be happier with the power handling combination.

It seems to me you're full of contradictions or you're very confused! You bought the car to get away from big power and breakages, yet you want it to be "fast" now i.e. big power in a car that wasn't designed for it yet you point out that it's still not fast enough...

If you want something that handles and has big power I think you're looking at the wrong cars. Maybe you should try your luck with an EVO, 911, RX7, or a Silvia.

There are plenty of Falcons and Commodores running big numbers without issues or have wisely upgraded to gearboxes built to handle horse power. Maybe you're doing it wrong

In somthing sorta relating to this topic.

My Mazda 808 with 700hp and stock suspention and rubbish brakes got flogged around queensland raceway by a stock engine datsun 1600 with coilovers and brembo brakes semi slicks. etc.
