Mate photo 1. shows the witness mark from the tie rod hitting the sway bar after full lock.

Photo 2. witness mark on the tie rod itself.

Photo 3. tie rod actually hitting the swaybar at full lock.

Was thinking of securely mounting it under the car near the front wheel and trying to replicate the problem, would give more of an indication as to where the sound is coming from, ecs have a few vids like this

Removed the Ultra Racing Strut bar and replaced the original strut bolts, got a feeling its the bolts or the bar, either way I'll give it a week and see how it goes, if no rattles i'll replace the bolts used on the bar with longer factory style bolts, this may be the remedy.

After removing the strut bar, the issue is definitely better, only managed to make it occur on extra bumpy surfaces, possibly still an issue with the strut top but I think this has nailed the issue..

Will organize some bolts and see if it goes away with the bar in, if not the extra torsion may be the issue..

My knocking occured before the strut brace went on, though in the last few months I've been driving the car daily and haven't noticed the clunking any more.

Think around 50,000k's you start to hear a whole heap of new noises in the car, nothing major, just gets you wondering..

But I think this suspension knock is possibly a minor design bug with the car..
