    The way I figured it, guys here with immaculate Polo GTIs are getting maybe $12-14k for their cars, many of which have leather interiors and of course are in far better condition than mine. Mines also an early 2007 so nearly 6 years old which makes resale even lower.

    Deduct a few grand to fix dents in the roof and bonnet panels and some more to replace the interior parts I've lost (including the headliner) and there's not much left that would make the sale worthwhile. Hence the decision to keep it as a track toy instead.
