    Strut Brace

    Hey Guys,

Im lookin 2 buy a strut brace for my GTI.
I can see that the Forge SB is the 1 that ppl most use here on the forum, but I was wondering if there was any alternatives??

Ive had a look, but cant seem to find any on the net.
Does any1 know any other brand of SB available for the Polo?

    Thanks.
    T Go.

Mate i know Seat themselves made one for the mk4 Ibiza which i tried to get prices for but had some troubles. I did the group buy for the forge ones and they are the only other i could find at the time. There is a group buy for them in the group buy section.

Hi everyone, resurrecting an old thread.

I just installed Forge front Strut Brace today and was wondering whether when i'm tightening the tower bolts back up if they need a specific amount of force (+ how do you measure this?)

    sorry for the noob question.

I realise that it was in there thanks mate, but how do you measure force (torque) etc... is my question. I just did the bolts up until i thought they were tight enough???

Mate you measure it with a torque wrench but as for the exact settings im not sure. Maybe someone with etka or similar can answer.

I did mine up FT(F*#king Tight), or first click of the elbow, along with some locktite.

the recommended 15Nm isn't overly tight. so you needn't be too worried. they required no effort at all to undo when i installed mine.

cool, thanks guys. I figured if i did them as tight or tighter than when i took them out its better than too little. I don't have a torque wrench, so I guess i'll just keep checking them over the next few weeks to check for loose ones... (or perhaps it's a good excuse to buy a decent set of socket wrenches, broke the last one installing the bugger yesterday, along with taking some skin off the hand on that bloody air-box )
