    Street Cred and Polo GTi

I acknowledge the Polo Gti is never going to have the street presence of a Chrysler 300C, but what can we do to give it a little more street cred.

Its a car that many people dont know much about, when they see it at the lights or parked somewhere, people scoff at any suggestion it may have decent performance.

So what can we do to lift the presence or street cred of the Polo Gti.

    Wheels?

rally wide body kit, 17x10 rear with 17x9 fronts, badgeless all-round, illegal dark tint..... Probably as menacing as it will ever get and it will still be called a girls car by anyone that hasn't been in it and some that have. Polo will never have street cred, hell even the golf doesn’t only VW cars that do are the R series cars everything else is considered girlie.

Who needs street cred when you drive a VW?

You're a VDubber thats all that matters!

Honestly though, wheels and maybe these to make it looks a bit meaner?

I prefer to sail under the radar...Keeps the Bogans and Rozzers off my back... However, If there is a need to use the power of the Sleeper, I have fun with it!!

I bought it EXACTLY because of its anonymity, and in a neutral silver as well so it totally blends in.

Twice as fun when you blow off the uninitiated who dismisses your car as easybeat. Don't mod the exterior i beg of you - we don't need the "street cred"!

I'm enjoying the anonymity of the Polo Gti as it allows plenty of fun whilst flying below the cops radar with minimal unwanted attention. But very amusing to see the looks of those faces who think we are easy targets to outrun and end up getting the shock and embarrassment of a lifetime Gives me a great smile every time.

That's the beauty of the Polo GTI. For those who don't know about them, it looks like another beater. But again, it's never been (at least for me) about impressing anyone else, but rather how much damn fun I have in it!

I can't believe that even after a year of ownership, I STILL make up excuses to take it for a spin.

Only wish it didn't eat front tyres, but maybe that's just my driving.

I always liked driving the polo Gti coz ppl thought it was a mkv golf gti lol. Who cares really, it's a 20k car, late model car that looks good and goes well. Stuff the 300c. Ppl who drive them think they're pimpin in a phantom wannabe made by Chrysler. Only one person I know who drives one is a modest guy, the others think they are better than everyone else

I once sold a phone to a guy who owns one on 24s. I drove to his house and after he paid for the phone he said to me "so u wanna see my car?" I said ok just so it didn't feel awkward. I didn't really have much to say but he just stood there telling me how sick a car it was.

    :/
