pretty certain its the motion detection for the alarm. So if you left a dog in the car while ducking in to the shops you could lock it, wtihout the alarm being triggered due to movement
Hi guys,
Loving my GTI at the moment, usually im the type of person that feels guilty/regrets when they make large buys, however this is probably the first one where i really am so happy i made it. Love my Polo GTI and i have only had it a day
Anyway, iv noticed that there is a button in the back of the car on the drivers side wall which looks a bit like a car with a light shining from the roof (That or a sprinkler in the top of the car). Now when the cars parker/driving lights are on it glows an amber sort of colour, when you push it it turns red but i cant seem to work out what it actually does ?
I have gone througth the manual about 3 times now and am sure i cant see any reference to it.
Any ideas?

Yeah, leck is correct. You press it then close the door and lock the car. The motion sensor is deactivated until the car is locked next. The alarm will still go off if the interior door handles are used when it's locked.
Does it switch back to normal automatically after you return to the vehicle? I think I pushed the button a while ago, and when I thought nothing happened, I don't think I turned it off.
Yea its activated again next time u lock it.
I left the windows down a tad and locked my car...
The alarm ended up goin off afta awhile, so even if ur leavin ur windows open, u mite wanna push it.
T Go.
spot on fellas, and by the way bobby, it is in the manual. i can't remember the section it's in but i found it in there after i had the same issue as you, wondering WTF it was for. i had a sneaking suspicion it had something to do with the alarm so i think i went to that section first??
