    Stone Chips...any preventions?

Hey fellow dubbers, since owning my polo gti i've found that I'm suffering from a great amount of stone chips. This has never been the case with my previous rides. Not only am I getting chips on the bonnet but also along both sides of the car. I've already enquire VW about bonnet protectors but alas they don't make them for the gti. Does anyone know if there is any after market ones? I plan on respraying the bonnet black and would like to keep it chip free. Much appreciation in advance.

    Don't drive your car! hahaha.

Apart from a car bra, bonnet protectors and the use of "Clear shield" (which is like clear contact that you apply over your paint work in the areas that will get chipped), they're really unavoidable unfortunately.

Is it the shape of the gti that is making it more prone to stone chips? Cause like I said before with my previous cars I only suffered less than a handful amount.

I looked at this a few months ago. Robco Products do a black Car Bra for $300, but they can be made in any other colour for an extra cost.

My caddy gets sand blasted aswell.. I think the paint VW uses seems to be pretty hard (brittle) and very thin too.

The only problem with the car bra is that it makes the car look ugly, but thanks for the suggestion.

i found that my pog is more suspectible to chip too cf to my previous cars.
maybe to do with vw's paint?

backhome, i know 3M has clean protective film, similar type of film used in screen protector.

most ppl just treat front of the car only coz they aint cheap.
