Damn, that sucks hard.
Best of luck catching the bastard(s).
hi everyone,
last night / this morning my beloved Red VW Polo GTI was stolen :'( from my car park!
the car was recently advertised for sale on Used Cars - New Cars - Search New & Used Cars For Sale - carsales.com.au and i had a miscellaneous phone call yesterday from a prospective buyer who wanted to look at it today but called on a private number. surprise surprise today its now missing/stolen.
if anyone sees her on the streets please call the police immediately. the number plate is 9N GTI so its easily recognisable and it has a german flag on the front grille.
if you hear of anyone selling aftermarket goodies ie apr exhaust, chipped ecu etc for 1 of these, treat with caution.
cheers
Damn, that sucks hard.
Best of luck catching the bastard(s).

20/20 hindsight is great, but should be a warning to everyone selling online. If someone calls and they are not prepared to disclose their telephone number to you, don't give out any information that puts you in such a situation. Ask them for their number and tell them you will call them back and then give them the information.
Good luck.
bugger, was it stolen from crows nest?
Didn't think polo's were easy to steal.
I'll be extra cautious as I'm selling mine atm too.
2008 POLO GTI - SOLD
2005 MkV Golf GTI - couldn't resist
I've said it a million times, I'm with Lance from Pulp fiction on this one
While it doesn't make things any better, it was for sale and about to leave your hands anyway, I just hope it's well insured so you can move on with your next pride and joy.Lance: Still got your Malibu?
Vincent: Aw, man. You know what some ****er did the other day?
Lance: What?
Vincent: ****ing keyed it.
Lance: Oh, man, that's ****ed up.
Vincent: Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some ****less piece of **** ****ed with it.
Lance: They should be ****ing killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that ******* doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
Lance: What a ****er!
Vincent: What's more chicken**** than ****ing with a man's automobile? I mean, don't **** with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

Was it insured well? Might have just got rid of your car easy!
Very odd choice of car to steal IMO.
sorry to hear, will keep an eye out.
sorry to hear... but how did he do it? I mean, without the key, he cannot by-pass the remobiliser, right?
Sorry to hear - like others have said hopefully your insurance comes to the party and you're not out of pocket in any way.
I assume most likely the vehicle was towed away. I know there are tow / incline sensors on the alarm system, but we had our TDI Golf Mk V towed a few weeks ago and the flatbed driver managed to pick up the car from a supermarket carpark, fully locked and alarmed, without needing the keys nor setting off the alarm system. He suggested that with a few years experience (he'd been doing it for 30+ years) it was pretty easy to get the car onto the tow truck that way.
In any case, hope it all works out for you.
yes it was insured for just over 20k. but the biggest issue for me is now if its not recovered is that my premiums go up, excess etc. not ideal at all!
i also thought it was an odd car to steal but it was a very clean example, individual parts on the car far outweight the total value of the car as we know. for all i know they could have stripped it down for the leather seats, interior, wheels, tyres, exhaust system etc etc etc
yes mate from crows nest, can you believe it!!
