    Stock wheel weights

Anyone have an idea on how much the stock 16" Polo GTi wheels weigh compared to the 17" Denver wheels that look the same style?

Is any increase in wheel weight offset by lower profile tyres ie going from 205/45/16 to 215/40/17?

    Cheers,

    Scott

17 denver is around 20kg depending on tyre. Not sure on the 16. Going from 16 to 17 prob won't make much difference weight wise. Will just look better. If anything 17 will weigh more as there's more metal, and about the same rubber. But it won't be much. Weigh one of your 16 and see. My denver and Dunlop sport max tyre are 20.4 kg from memory.

Thanks for that. The 16" wheels are 17.2Kg.

Yes they'll look good but not sure how much of a difference that will make on acceleration

When I ran the TT rims (17 x 7.5) they felt heavy. At 25lbs they were.
You'd want a lower offset by about 30mm to have stance with those, even if they are a little heavier, I think the S3/TT rims would be better for improved handling if you want to stay OEM, but the similar design in bigger format could work. Few sets popping up.

Anyone know the stock tyre size on the 6R GTI? Not convinced a 215 would clear the coils.
