You dont have a chip then.

My tyres are fried up everyday. 20,000km and tyres on the way out.

I bought new wheels and tyres.

50K km's on a set of tyres is dangerous IMO.

I'd say people getting 10,000km from street driving only is more dangerous. lol.

I'd have thought 35,000+ from street driving on the conti's should be realistic. 20-25,000 for the enthusiastic weekend warrior.

I got 25,000km from a set of yoko C-drives inclusive of 8 trackdays and a few skid pans. I was chuffed, so it can be done. I'm expecting 30km+ from my conti's with a handful of trackdays under its belt, I'm generally a grandpa on the street though.

Yup +1 as well. 50,000km? I think I got bout 20K-25K km from my conti's.

Also, after 105,000km, I needed my 4th set of tyres (3 of which has been Preceda 2's). It has nothing to do with chipped or not, it has to do with how you drive it and thats it (and I've done a handful of track days).

I've done about 33k on the standard tyres and still lots of tread left. I do lots of highway driving, i can see them lasting a while longer yet.

60,000kms on a set of tyres? Faaaaaar out you guys need to do more club runs. I'm replacing my fronts after 17,000 or so.

(and I reckon it's relevant as my car has pretty much the same drivetrain as yours)

53,000 km on original tyres too

Ive done about 53000 kms in my polo gti on the original tyres. I think theyre still good for another 5000 to 10,000 k's, they've been rotated about 2-3 times. I thought this was pretty normal tyre usage! I mostly commute to work and only thrash it a little on weekends.
I obviously drive like an old woman compared to most people by the sound of things!
