    Slow progress.

I finally got my brakes sorted. I upgraded to RDA slotted rotors in standard sizes with Remsa pads. Great service from the boys at GSL Rallysport. I also upgraded to braided brake lines and Penrite SIN(Racing) fluid. The pedal feels good, it's definitely more progressive.

Also, I got a nice present from the folks for our wedding anniversary. An Autobrite foam lance with a couple of bottles of snow foam and some waffle-weave towels. Holy moly, that autobrite snow foam is the business!! I had a chance to have a play with it today and the car came up shinier than ever before --

    Dog needed a wash too..

I've also finalised a list of things I need to get sorted before the turbo upgrade:
    > The ever elusive knock in the front end, which I think is 1 of 3 things: wheel bearing, ball joint or CV.
    > See what KW can do about the groans in my front coil-overs, hoping things don't get too messy.
    > Some cosmetic things, get a few dents fixed, source a new front bar and paint a few bits.

I'm hoping to get these things sorted asap so I can move onto the bigger terbeau.

Have thought about getting a Snow Foam Lance for a while, you might have just convinced me to purchase one

Oh why do you need a new front bar?

It's fantastic Troy, I thought it would be more fun than anything but it actually works.
Apart from the wheels which took a bit more persuasion, all the dirt came off the car without using a mitt.
I was previously using Meguiars Gold Class and a Microfibre mitt, 2 bucket wash, bla bla..
I mixed some snow foam up and plastered it on (it's like a bloody foam cannon!) 15 mins later, pressure washed it off and dried it off. It's so much shinier than the Meguiars ever was and completely touch free wash which is good. Anything that cuts washing time is a win in my book, and in this case the results are better. The only thing I've come across is that a good strong mix of snow foam can strip waxes and sealants so I'll have to get on that..

Way back when I was fitting the exhaust I went to put it on the ramps and went up too fast.. I have two nice dents on either side where it rode up the ramps. They're not too bad but coupled with a few scratches it's just been annoying me for far too long. I really want to get all the little things that are bugging me sorted before I move onto another stage that will probably bring it's own niggles..

    Small update.
As in the other thread, the battery died yesterday, so I thought why not throw on the lightweight battery box I've had sitting around for a while... <WARNING: Dodgy camera picture>

I ended up with the Deka ETX14 220CCA. Light as hell. So far so good, started the car up first pop.
Still need to tidy the fuses up at a later date, but fine for now.

I was talking to the old mate who owns the place, an aircraft electrical engineer or something like that, and he was saying that as long as I keep it in good condition it could last me 5-6 years in the car and I shouldn't have any problems. Something to do with the more you let it get flat, it exponentially decreases the life of the battery. He's been running the same battery, next size up, in his V8 speedway car for the last 8 years. Moral of the story was basically to keep it in tip top condition.

Approx weight saving? Seems like an easy way to shave bulk weight.

The Deka is 5.4kgs and the stock battery is just under 20kgs iirc.
