eh, my old rex won a small comp with everything in factory locations, probably helps that the gear was decent and installed well (good mdf baffles similar to your pics above etc.. but i didnt DIY, dont have the tools nor the space unfortunately)

Not sure how things work in south africa, but theft is a problem here. My car is purely for daily usage so something like the golf above would last about 2 seconds parked at the train station carpark.

in South Africa - theft is probably more of a problem than it is there - but we have more hijackings than theft of parked cars - yes sound syustems parked on the road do get targetted - but thats why most of us with decent cars tend to park in indoor parkings at home or in busy public pay parkings - the lack of jobs here mean that there are also plenty of people who work as car gaurds - they watch your car if you give them a buck or two (thats around 1/7 of your dollar)

at the moment my speakers are more or less in the stock locations - the door cards mean that the midrange gets stifled by the design of the grile - and it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of actual sound which is why id want the speakers more prominently placed onto the door card - but utilising some form of making sure that the speaker is in some sort of enclosure so that you get no cancellations

my parking situation is more than safe cos i hardly go anywhere with my car - not even gonna compete in sound offs - just want ti to sound great when i am driving around - if it gets to be around 30% as good as my home system then im happy

most of my gear is above decent if you look at it in terms of how good gear can get - okay its not entirely high end but maybe my speakers MB Quart Q-lines and definitely the Morel Sub can get away with being called high end

im not really fussed over hiding those from prying eyes - but i would like to have them hidden from adverse weather ie hectic direct sunlight and also heavy rain - both of which are common in my area but with the condition that they must be in areas that actually allow for a very good soundstage and sense of scale and presence in the music
