Well done for your driving efforts.

I personally don't like the 'what my car beat' threads, as i feel it creates an atmosphere of POG owners thinking we are bigger than we are.

I know my car could not beat a EVO/WRX/FTP with a few $K in mods and a good driver, but then again, that was not my goal.

If you can with yours, well done.

I think off the line a good driver in a Sti/EVO would beat a good driver in a Polo Gti. Thats not a bad thing, an STi/Evo would beat most cars off the line.

Rolling start, a chipped Polo would be competitive with a stock Sti or evo but as much as one decent mod to those cars and it should swing the scales in favour of the Sti/Evo.

I think its a fine achievement to be competitive in gear acceleration to these cars. Win by a whisker or lose by a whisker, still pretty quick.

Ive learnt to be happy with what it can do rather than crying about what It cant do

I too agree given both drivers able to maximise the potential of the cars (i.e. chipped Polo and stock STi), STi will come out on top on drag but I'm happy what I've, a unassuming ride than can keep these performance cars honest on straight line, adequate handling and best of all not all hot hatch that can top 250km/h. I'll be going back to Sepang and have another go, this time Federal 595 RSR equipped, Contis just suck on tight twisties.

I agree with many of you people in saying that a STI/EVO can kill a pog any day. BUT with the right drivers the pog can still put up a good fight.

When down at wakie the mrt sti was crazy slow but another time there was a couple of full tune wrx and evos and theres no way anything could catch them on that day. Even at eastern creek the STI and EVO had to run in a different class because they were too fast. They were up against semi-race cars and still had a good go at them, whereas i had to chase down xr6, xr8, SS, etc. I was still able to have a few good battles with Clio sports, MX-5 and a couple of sportivos. GOOD FUN

Agreed. Not to mention, very boring.

Well, I'm going to kill this puppy before it gets into any more trouble. These type of threads go nowhere very quick.
