More suspense than an episode of C.S.I.
Love your work Jimmy!

any updates on the solution that was being worked on by jmac??
by the looks , and by al means correct me on this one. jmac is maybe thinking of putting a pattent (or however you spell the damn thing) on his idea. no doubt hell release pics of the idea then.
I have taken delivery of my latest idea, just waiting for Vwindahouses Manifold to come back from the coater and ill bolt the turbo to his manifold with my new plates, just to let you know the pitch between all three bolts on the Polo Gti manifold are different so i had to get 3 made up at different lengths, I have enough made up to repair/resolve 6 vehicles. Im waiting with baited breath for the manifold to come back. Bolted up i willl know for sure, but let me tell you they look REALLY good. Time will tell and if they work itll be so much easier than the lockwiring Just lockwired a K04 and it was a task. Takes 1 hr per bolt to drill the hole for the safety wire. times that by 3 and engineers skill with the drill to save the drill bits. With Vwindahouses i will be applying the plates and the lockwiring for 2 lock safety ( aircraft stylee) as i have his already drilled just in case. Stay tuned for results, but as for pics unsure at this stage , because if it works well, its well worth a patent imo.

This is my business , my staff are experts in threads / bolts. This is the cheapest and the best way of alleviating the problem.
( Option 2 )
If you live in Adelaide and you have the problem give us a call. Then post up the result and the thread will stop.
Sorry about the forcefullness but we've done this before and it's 100% successfull.
I had Jimmy do a 60k service for me and asked him to check the turbo bolts just in case. One of them is swinging in the breeze barely in!!!!! So back to the dealer who had to replace a window regulator and yet another strut top mount (2nd in 2.5 years). Assured turbo bolts were fixed and the invoice said it was done. The dealer also said I needed new rotors and pads - which i knew from Jimmy.
Almost said "Yeah like I'd let you guys rip me off and then do a crap job" but said I had that organised. So, today Jimmy does the brakes and cupra bushes and I ask him to check the work of the dealer (as you have to do). Guess what???
Turbo bolt UNTOUCHED!!!!!! Still happily loose as a goose!!!!!
Of course I'll be having a conversation with the dealer involved.
If ever proof was needed, NEVER let a dealer do anything to your car that doesn't involve warranty.
Even then, you need someone who actually knows what they are doing and really cares about their work (thanks Jimmy) to check it!!!! Incredible.
Oh, and I'll also have a chat about the nice little dent on top of the guard where one of their idiots dropped a tool...........
That's entirely consistent with my experience, and totally crap on the part of both the dealer and VWA. There's been enough reports to show this is a known problem...but they don't even know how or where to look.
Go up 'em Peter!!

Yeah it was a disheartening find really, i was hoping to see new bolts and gasket and a 2 second glance. Had a look and had the sinking feeling. poor show tbh.

Well, my Polo with 37000 k's started sounding a little noisy when first started. I thought little of it as I am very sensitive to noise. Yesterday I noticed when on full throttle beyond 4K it was making a raspy sound. Took it to my local mechanic, but could not replicate for him to hear. I left it with him to hear when its cold as blipping the throttle when cold was sounding worse quickly.
1 bolt gone all together, others loose (as was expected). Once again the info on this forum provided me with the info I needed to point my mechanic in the right direction straight up. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy (and a smirk of hoping for more boost when its all back together).
Moral of the story, if your car starts sounding like a truck when you start it up, get the bolts checked.
