Sorry guys - link fixed in my original post. But here it is again.
VW 02-05 JETTA Golf GTI MK4 1.8t Turbo BOLT-ON Side Mount Intercooler Kit | eBay
I have been looking at fitting one of these to my Polo GTI. The inlet and outlet pipes face the wrong way for the Polo, so some custom piping needs to be sorted out.

Is it really worth it though - it's pretty tiny and side mount get's no air flow...If everyone's complaining about how bad the Forge FMIC is surely getting a SMIC is going to be no better than stock...

Let's just throw another one into the mix - Forge's Version of the Seat Sport intercooler as a kit.

This *should* fit the 9N3 Polo GTI if the SEAT Sport one does too, they're designed for the same car.

You are right, but with the additional thickness (more than twice the thickness of stock), it has about the same surface area of the Forge or APR intercoolers. The airflow into there wouldn't be awesome, but it would be way better than stock... It's been pretty much all covered in this thread...:

If you want a cooler with outlets on the same side.....what about a cooler from a Ford XR6 turbo? They are a Garrett core, decent size and cheap as chips.
I had one on my old 200sx and it worked a treat. Was about 3x larger than the stock side mount. Cost me $40 for the cooler, and i bought a $200 piping and silicone kit from ebay. A few hours work and voila.
