Nah that's the piping kit for it. This is the cooler

I have a friend who might be able to help me with some custom piping at a fraction of the cost.

    Ok, lost now...

so the 40 pounds was the shipping fee, not the IC (just so we are clear). Looks like they've adjusted it up to 60 pounds, still lands under $500 aus with the brackets...

the hard pipes they sell are for the Deisel, won't fit up to the 1.8T (although may with some modification)

If you're prepared to spend around a grand for the piping and IC, you may as well get the Forge Seat kit (Seat FMIC, with Forge piping)

Really interested in working together on the piping, waiting to hear back from a few people, been very slow...

I'm with you mate. At this stage I am just going to get the cooler here first.

The next step for me will probably be down the custom piping path. I havent got any information on it yet but will update here once the cooler arrives and I have more information

I'm still very keen on the pipes. Count me in.
I think we're all going down the same road.. ordering the coolers and sorting pipes out here.
If we can sort a pipe kit out that would be fantastic!

I have asked a UK distributor for everything accept for the flange. If they come back to me, I'll let you know the cost and we can do it x 3. The ebay seller is called mrsilicone, they have everything we would need (hard pipes, silicone parts, clamps), so then we would need someone to work out the welding x 3, then we're almost there!

Have a look at apmotorstore in the UK too and compare prices. I just ordered a heap of gear to fmic my s3. Pipes list was easy to find on audisport.net. has to be a list somewhere for polos.

    Nice...

This is what I found (before shipping, prices are each) from mrsilicone:

    2 x 51mm 2" METAL ALLOY HOSE PIPE JOINER CONNECTOR SILICONE - 100mm Length £4.75
    1 x 51mm 2" Diameter Alloy Bend Elbow 45° Degree Aluminium £12.00
    2 x 51mm 2" 90° Degree Elbow Aluminium Alloy Silicone Pipe £15.13
    2 x Black Silicone Hose Straight Reducer 60>50mm £8.98
    1 x 51mm 2" ID Silicone Silicon Hose Pipe 1 Metre Black 1M £24.75
    1 x 48mm - 51mm SILICONE HOSE ACE T BOLT CLIPS QTY 10 £10.50
    1 x 60mm - 63mm SILICONE HOSE ACE T BOLT CLIPS QTY 2 £2.45

As far as I can see thats everything, the joiners aren't required, but I like ally sections with a lip.

Did the Seat core yesterday. My 2c:

Jmac's notes about making holes for accessing the radiator mounts are helpful.
There is a lot more cutting required with this design than what the Forge front IC required. I recommend an angle grinder, hacksaw (for cutting plastic only) and a liberal attitute to what you'll be able to see after.

I cut a good 1-2 inches off one of the right angle sections and 2-3 inches off the intake mani pipe to make it all join up sweetly.

Take it for a test before you put the front back on or you may be taking it off again to locate boost leaks (like I did).

Seat core + custom piping = good quality intercooler, well priced.
