From all that i read, the exhaust mod does nothing more than add sound, the stock setup is actually fairly good
What benefits do you guys see from the APR R1 dv? worth the upgrade?

I think the dump pipe is limited in its benefits, but they are certainly there. A little more power, a throatier burble when the exhaust it warm, but not WRX'y... The cat is holding it back but they're not cheap to swap out, if you know someone with the tools / ability, a used one in good cond could be a cheap option.
As for the intake, I still remember the clear difference with the boost coming on in 1st gear, if you are not considering other intake options, its worth the spend in combination with a tune and decent diverter.
Many options, difficult to know where to spend it. I stated doing a writeup, trying to explain how it all came together on my car, you may find it helpful.
Enjoy (I think you might be doing that as I type)...
You could also choose a GFB dv instead of the apr or forge. I preferred it over the forge dvMade a massive improvement on the polos drivability!
So i got it. First time in a while i actually drove to work. First time i have ever enjoyed it too. I got heaps of reading to do as well when i comes to the mods everyones suggesting. What about weight of car? Anyone done any simple weight reduction? Surely a new full exhaust would weigh less than the original.
Thanks Chuck ill keep in mind when i start to look at the upgrades. Will be nice to see the difference.
Noone - ill check out the writeup.
Thanks everyone again.
