I agree about the air flow.
Not sure if it was designed as a dual pass having larger gaps to improve airflow. Seem to recall that it was the same core that they use for their golf single pass ones, though not sure.

The fact that it fits already, albeit just is a major positive.

Ah Junior, is there anything you've done to your Polo that isn't pure porn
Looks good, but to be honest I am sick of waiting for my car to be finished. I don't want to wait for shipping from the UK.
There has to be some good or better Australian alternatives.

Is that 2.5in or 3in piping?

The ARE coolers look good. Just thinking that for that sort of money ($400 for the core) I may
as well just put new end tanks on the THS. I see what Paul from Westside thinks when he inspects the car.

    Yep.
Spent alot of time doing research.
The ARE website has got heaps of info. Thanks Jason for reminding me.

I think if I cut up the THS intercooler and put on new end tanks it could destroy it.
Trying to make it a good single pass probably wont work.

So I have to buy a good quality single pass.
In terms of sizing, especially with the water/meth I don't need to go too large.
I don't want one that goes up behind the crash bar as it has no airflow and just creates boost drop with higher temps.

These are a couple that look good and fit the criteria:
400HP Garrett High Density Intercooler Core w/ATP Cast End Tanks : atpturbo.com
Aero 2 Intercoolers | PWR Performance Products
    or an ARE one.

I will probably go with a PWR Intercooler Aero ll,600x196x68 2.5' outlets $413.88
Found on a Aussie website. Made in Australia, not chinese. It's a similar size to the Garret.
Just waiting for Seb to measure the front and tell me what size will fit.
