The 'SET' button on centre console

    Hi guys,

Just picked up my 2008 GTI yesterday, loving the the little thing =) Coming from a big old VP ute to this little thing is a big change.

Anyways, since not ever owning a car with so many little nifty features, went through the manual to familiarise myself with the car. One thing I'm left scratching my head about is that little 'SET' button on the centre console next to the ESP button. Would anyone be able to tell what this does?

Oh welcome, another Vic polo, you are in same area as Pete, have you seen a bad ass black VR6 around your area

It is for the tyre pressure, when you pump them up, press the set button, then it will let you know if they deflate

And if you see the warning go off, don't ignore it like i did for another 10k's lol

I genuinely had a puncture, luckily i didnt damage the tire as it had enough inflation

Thats great teedee. I picked mine up on the same day. Am still trying to work out all the electrical extras (after coming from a 91 vn commodore). Am trying to work out how i can set it so it gives me a reading of how many kms i have left in my tank. Anyone enlighten me how this is done?

    Hey there mate,

Congrats on the PGTI. To cycle through the time, ambient temp, current fuel consumption, etc, use the selector at the end of the windscreen wiper stalk (right hand side) to move up or down the "menu". You'll find the range, which is what you're looking for.

Did your Polo come with a manual?
Probably worth having a look through that.
