I was quoted 560 for the 30,000 km service at VW dealer south yarra.
Thats is a Double from what i have quoted in independent service centre.
Anyway, i may go for that coz it is Major in this time, so maybe just psychologically satisfy myself in this case. haha.... Hope they will give me genuine service professionally.

i've just taken in my misses' polo yesterday, as it was having some issues with occasionally stalling whilst driving.

we purchased an extended warranty with the car back in '03, so i figured any issues would be sorted.

apparently it appears to be the MAF sensor, and the dealer won't cover it under warranty because

we haven't had it servied at that SPECIFIC vw dealership. When the misses was working in Sydney, she'd have it serviced at the dealer in hornsby... you know... drive down the coast to work, drop off the car, goto work, pick the car up on the way home.

so because of that, warranty was voided.

Yeah, when I was negotiating a deal that I didn't go through with, they offered the extended warranty, but it had to be serviced by the dealer AND after 3 years, oil changes had to be performed every 7500km AT THE DEALER!

And they wanted $30,000 for the GTI as well. I obviously had 'stupid' written on my forehead that day.

$30k for a stock standard Polo GTI with metallic paint is about $1k of retail, which is hardly any discount.

i take back everything bad i've said haha

warranty has been re-instated, issue has been resolved

thinking the misses needs a new car though.. looking for a polo GTI for her to take for a test drive now..

I had my 30,000kms service done at VW and even with the Gearbox oil being changed on top of everything it cost me $490.

As for purchase price on a polo GTI, i got mine at rock bottom this time last year $26,000 drive away. I didnt want anything with the car, so it worked in my favour. For anyone looking at one with a sunroof if i remember correctly rock bottom is $27,750 drive away.

thats cheaop 26k with no options. i got my white gti for $26,990 wth no options
